It’s Mint To Be!

We said what we mint, and we mint what we said!

As if seeing this trend hit just about every store across America and on everyone’s Pinterest boards wasn’t enough, I thought that I would remind you of this fabulous eye-popping trend. Mint is the top-trending color of the season, whether it comes to clothing, shoes, handbags or even household items. There is something about mint that is so calming and so refreshing. It provides a sense of class and takes you back to an Audrey Hepburn-esque era, aka my favorite role model. Now that the color has debuted for the season, mint weddings are around every corner! From mint color themes to using it as an accent color only, mint is the most popular guest at spring and summer weddings this year. Whether it is paired with coral, gold, or any other color, mint is popping up everywhere, and we can’t take our eyes off of it!

Check out this beautiful mint and gold accented wedding, but I will warn you, you’re going to fall in love!

Dishy Joins 3 Little Birds 4 Life

While we absolutely love making wedding dreams come true for our clients, what we love even more is helping out in society when we have the opportunity. One such opportunity arose last month and we just couldn’t resist. 3 Little Birds 4 Life is a non-profit organization whose vision is to continue to work diligently to provide young adults, ages 18-40, currently managing cancer, a better chance at a successful journey towards remission. And they have been doing just that…granting 20 wishes for individuals battling cancer in the past 8 months! WOW!

The three main focuses of 3 Little Birds 4 Life are to:

Grant Wishes for current young adult cancer patients 18-40 years of age
Provide resources for young adults with cancer to find help in all aspects of the cancer journey
Provide young adults an escape from cancer

We (Ashley) recently joined their board as the Event Planning Chair, which means we’ll be coordinating their annual events, including Jamdown Rockas, the annual gala! Sofia and Wes — oh what a couple! Not only was this my first wedding back post-baby, but it was a quite one memorable as well. See photos below for a big reason why. Sofia, a professional hip hop dancer (and stunning beauty!) and Wes, a graphic designer, came all the way from Chicago for their St. Louis nuptials. On a perfect fall day, they tied the knot at St. Agatha followed by a danced filled reception at Lumen Private Event Space! I don’t believe I’ve ever had for fun watching wedding guests dance. Of course it helps when the room is full of professional dancers!

It’s been a while since we’ve blogged and for that I apologize! But you’re going to be glad we’re back with this little diddy of a wedding. We worked with Nadia and Andrew (and Andrew’s mother) all the way from Chicago to plan their St. Louis nuptials! Taking place at the unbelievably gorgeous St. Ambrose Church on the Hill and the classic Missouri Athletic Club, their wedding will not disappoint. Not only was Nadia a stunning bride, with a huge heart, but she’s also from Bulgaria so we had some special Bulgarian traditions to incorporate into their big day!

News: Happily Ever Answered Launches Public Beta Site!

As some of you may know, recently I began helping out with Happily Ever Answered, and new wedding specific Q&A platform! I’m pleased to announce that the website is finally up for public beta usage, which means now is the time to get your wedding questions answered! Right now the beta site is accessible by invitation only. To gain access, simple visit the HEA teaser page and enter your email address! The HEA team will notify you when access has been granted. That’s it! From there you can ask away on wedding related topics to your heart’s desire!

Happy Thanksgiving from Dishy!

As we near the end of yet another year, it’s time to take the opportunity to reflect on 2012. It’s been a year of mostly ups which is always a plus in the wedding business. From amazing weddings to wonderful clients, we really do have LOTS to be thankful for this year, and that’s putting it mildly! We even grew the business by one little lady, who’s sure to be our youngest intern ever! So here we go, drum roll please. Here are the TOP TEN things (and people) we are thankful for in 2012…

First and foremost, the newest edition to the Dishy family – baby Katherine “Kate” Ryan Rath! She arrived on August 27, 2012 weighing in at 7lbs 3oz and has been the biggest joy I could ever imagine!
Our new office space! Finally, we have a physical space to call our own, no more Starbucks for us! Be sure to swing by in 2013 in the Central West end at the corner of Euclid and Washington – 449 N Euclid #110.
Our new website! Now this one is very new, but we’ve been working on it for months and couldn’t be more happy to have a new place to call home on the web! Thanks to Robin Rath and Sean McKeen for all their hard work!
Several published weddings, including Rachel and Matt from August 4th, Meredith and Aaron from April 14th and Jaci and Jon from March 24th! Check out St. Louis Bride and Groom and St. Louis Bride for more details!
St. Louis really does have a slew of rock star vendors that make our jobs enjoyable and downright easy sometimes! We are so thankful for all of the amazing vendors we had the opportunity to work with in 2012!
New Dishy head shots courtesy of the lovely and talented miss Lisa Hessel (who also had a baby this year)! We love the new photos as you can tell from their presence on our new web site! Thank you Lisa!
Our brides, and their families! All so different and unique and that’s why we love them! From hugs and laughs, each moment we spent helping brides this year was wonderful. Thank you to all of our past (and future) clients!
And of course where would we be without our event coordinators and assistants! Thanks to everyone who helped make my job easier while pregnant – Amanda, Ashley #2, Colleen and Jessica! You all are simply amazing!

If you’re like many brides out there, you’re probably searching the internet for the best deal on quality wedding stationery items – from save the dates to invitations and thank you cards. If you’re opting to order online vs. visiting a traditional stationer in your area, you’ll definitely want to check out Wedding Paper Divas. Back in the day when I was getting married, I initially looked through their stock of items for my own stationery and I must say they have just about everything you can think of at some reasonable prices!
