In years past, save the dates have always been a little card or mini-invite if you will sent via postal mail to those persons lucky enough to be on your guest list. As time goes by though, the save the date have been evolving into an entirely different being…becoming more unique and inventive every year.

In a way, the save the date kind of sets the tone for your wedding day. It’s the first thing your guests will see, giving them a glimpse of your personal style and feel for the wedding theme. If you’re looking for unique ways to have your guests save the date, our friends over at Beau Coup have a pretty extensive list of great ideas for you to consider. And in case you hadn’t already guessed, we’re going to tell you a little about our favorites now!

  1. Save the Date Magnets – Clearly these are one of the most popular save the date methods from the past decade. What’s great about a magnet is that a save the date usually ends up on someone’s refrigerator anyway, right? And they’re going to need a magnet to put them up there? Magnets are functional yet informational, so survey says they are a keeper for this decade too!
  2. Save the Date CDs – These are a new twist on saving the date that we love. Consider picking out some of you and your fiance’s favorite tunes and putting them on a CD – add your wedding date and location to the label and you’re set! Not only will it be entertaining, but they’re remember (and see) your wedding date every time they put it in their CD player.
  3. Save the Date Luggage Tags – This is a brand new idea that we’ve never heard of! And if you are getting married in a tropical location or across the country, this would be such a cute (and useful) way to let your guests in on the big day.   4. Save the Date Cookies – We love this because well we love cookies (and unique ideas of course). While cookies aren’t necessarily long-lasting, they will definitely get your date out there.   5. Personalized Seed Cards – So this one stole our her hearts. You order personalized seeds card with date, location etc. printed on them. Your guests plant the seeds once they receive them and by the time they bloom, it’ll be time to party! We’ll heart that!
