If you were in St. Louis on Saturday, July 24th and didn’t make it to Jive and Wail in Maplewood for the Cupcake and Wine Pairing class put on by STL Wine Girl and Bunny Cakes STL, I must say YOU MISSED OUT! And I’m not just saying this because cupcakes and wine happen to be two of my most favorite things in the entire wide world! I’m saying it because it’s 100% true.

Angie (STL Wine Girl) and Melissa (Bunny Cakes STL) put together five pairings of wine and cupcakes that were delicious, with flavors that complimented each other perfectly. You heard me right, Wish Upon a Wedding St. Louis made it’s first appearance at a bridal show – the St. Louis Perfect Wedding Guide Bridal Show at Windows on Washington in downtown St. Louis to be exact! Before I go any further, I MUST send out a very, very big thank you to Kassaundra and Adam from St. Louis Perfect Wedding Guide for donating a booth to Wish Upon a Wedding St. Louis! It was such a generous offer and we appreciate it more than I can say!

Kristin Weis, our board secretary, and I were on site for the four hour show to promote the organization, and I must admit the turnout and response was fantastic! Not that I would expect anything less from St. Louis! While many brides and their families had never heard of Wish Upon a Wedding, they certainly left more informed and eager to help out!

The reason I bring up this topic is because at some point during the preparation for your wedding, it’s pretty important to consider how many people on your list are actually coming from out of town! I know, I know! You were probably expecting me to say something more along the lines of “planning your wedding is like running a marathon!” Well, you’re right. And if I could RUN a marathon that’s exactly what I’d compare it to. HOWEVER, right now I can run two miles (especially when there’s a 100 degree heat index outside). So yeah, for now you get the “two mile” analogy – planning a wedding is like running two miles. It takes a lot of stamina to keep you going and a lot of drive to complete it!

It happened one Wednesday night in St. Louis at Lumen Private Event Space, and in fact it happened LAST night! The Wish Upon a Wedding St. Louis Chapter was officially launched last night and it was a huge success! Wedding industry professionals from all over the city came by to show their support at the Caribbean-chic themed event! It was truly AMAZING! A heart-warming and emotional speech from chapter president, Lacy Branch, topped off the night right!
