Happy early March everyone! I hope you all are enjoying the beginning of Spring and if you are in St. Louis, our weather pretty much rocks today, so a big WOO-HOO to that! For today’s post, I’d thought I’d share a little bit about our next big (yet small) event coming up at the end of the month. It’s the P.Rath Couture fashion show taking place in Murphysboro, IL (about an hour and half south of St. Louis, MO) and we’re excited to be a part of it!

Now, we witnessed the last P.Rath Couture show as an attendee and it was awesome, but for her next show Patti decided to take it up a notch and plan a two-show, Saturday and Sunday event – complete with 23 new spring-time looks! She contacted Dishy directly to help throw in the extra decor touches here and there and to help coordinate the model timing, dressing and sales effort following the runway show. And we we’re happy to help! With an intimate home setting that is oh so vintage inspired, we are working on some fun, inexpensive and DIY decor touches that we wanted to share on the blog. While we don’t have the images of the final products just yet (they’re still in process), we did want to share our simple, yet fun ideas for making it all happen!

  1. The Wine Bottle Vases w/ Pink Roses. These are quick, easy and inexpensive. Did I mention they are also super cute? Patti contacted a local wine merchant in Murphysboro who graciously donated empty wine bottles to use as our vases. Then we opted for the spring-like pink roses which also match some of the colors highlighted in the collection. Note: this works just as well if you know a lot of wine drinkers (or are one) who are willing to save their bottles!
  2. The 23-Look Postcard Garland. Featuring pictures taken from a photo shoot of the 23 looks, we decided to put together an easy photo/postcard garland to hang around the room and even some on the front porch. The intent is for attendees to take a postcard or two of their favorite looks and on the back will be some additional information about the garment. With mini-wooden clothes pins and some thin clothesline, this is a simple way to add a little extra!
  3. The Reserved Signs w/ Apple Green Tulle. What’s a fashion show without reserved seating, right? We has the same thought and decided to purchase some inexpensive green apple colored tulle to slide through the reserved signs and tie around the thirty white chairs lining the runway. Featuring the P.Rath Couture and Dishy Events logos, these are a great way to make the guests feel special while doing a little self-promotion from our end. :-)
  4. The Turquoise Organza Gift Bags. Because the attendees are close friends, acquaintances, partners, clients and potential clients of Patti’s we wanted to throw in a little something for them to keep. We purchased turquoise organza, cinched at the top, gift bags for a great price that will be filled with a note-taking golf pencil, a look postcard, business cards of the hard-working team that put it all together and maybe a few extra goodies.

The fashion shows take place between March 26th and 27th so be looking for pictures in just a few short of weeks. We’re excited to be a part of it and can’t wait to see how it all turns out!
